In the seventh day of iedul fitri, some people in certain villages in East Java usually have “Kupatan Party”. The day means that iedul fitri celebration has ended and Moslem have to do regular activities ; the worker must come to their office back; the student must go to school as usual. Although almost of them consider that kupatan party is the ending of iedul fitri, there are few Moslem celebrating iedul fitri and visiting one another.
It is not difficult to make ketupat. First, we have to prepare “janur” ( the coconut leaves whisch is young and yellow) and then shaped pocket of plaited young coconut leaves we form it as Shinto, luar or others. Next, they are filled with rice for about ane third for each ketupat. Finally, ketupat must be boiled in the boiling water.
Ketupat can be served with vegetable dish cooked with coconut milk. We can put kidney beans, legume, tofu, fermented soybean cake (tempe) , unripe jackfruit. We can add grinded soybean to make it more interesting and delicious…..
